Test Engineer
We are seeking a skilled Test Engineer to conduct comprehensive performance testing across our software product portfolio, including medical devices with embedded software and associated web applications. This role involves designing and leading the technical development of our functional group while ensuring our software meets performance requirements and business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive performance testing across software products, including medical devices and web applications.
- Design and lead the technical development and direction of the functional group.
- Track and report performance test results and metrics, including response times, error rates, throughput, CPU and memory utilization, and latency.
- Contribute to multiple codebases while providing technical leadership within Agile teams.
- Collaborate with architects to drive performance testing standards and optimize performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Design and execute various non-functional test scenarios for performance, load, scalability, reliability, and endurance testing.
- Utilize data analytics to assess product usage characteristics and patterns.
- Implement and maintain software automation tools based on software development technologies.
- Advise on software test automation feasibility, implementation, process improvements, and maintenance plans.
- Demonstrate expert-level knowledge in computer science fundamentals, such as design patterns, data structures, object-oriented programming, and software design.
- Apply source code management tools effectively.
- Design frameworks and implement design patterns to support performance testing.
- Support performance testing activities at all levels of the test pyramid.
- Coordinate with third-party partners in developing and executing performance testing.
- Enhance continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) techniques across teams.
- Train and coach the functional group on automated software performance tests and build pipelines.
- Identify test data requirements and manage dynamic software test data creation.
- Organize and control the software testing process to deliver high-quality software.
- Create training documentation and conduct knowledge transfer sessions.
- Troubleshoot environmental setup issues related to performance testing.
- Collaborate effectively with peer engineers and architects to solve complex problems.
- Review and approve code/test pull requests.
- Participate in all levels of testing as required.
- Drive discussions for determining the appropriate testing level for implemented functionality.
- Demonstrate mastery of software performance test techniques.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in an SDET role, with at least 5 years in Performance Testing.
- Experience with APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Solid understanding of HTTP protocols, web technologies, and REST APIs.
- Familiarity with performance monitoring and analysis tools like Grafana.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming and applications/embedded software development with languages such as .NET C#, C++, and Python.
- Proficient in performance testing using tools like JMeter.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in a transformational growth environment, particularly in R&D organizations.
Work Environment
You will collaborate with other Software Development Engineers in Test (SDET) and Quality Assurance (QA) professionals both locally and globally. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a significant transformation within the R&D organization.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Lakewood, Colorado.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $163000.00/yr.
