Operations Manager

Manage overall operations and assume responsibility for the effective and successful management of labor, productivity, and quality control. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include interviewing, selection and hiring; training new and existing employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; authoring and discussing performance appraisals; addressing employee performance, corrective action plans, motivation and rewards; preparing the annual budget in collaboration with the GM and Controller; and directly managing operational staff.

Perform diversified duties to analyze, troubleshoot, repair, and test a variety of electro-mechanical products. Read and work from print specifications, test schematics, technical manuals, and written/verbal instructions. Set up, troubleshoot, and repair assembly and test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, National Instruments equipment, and other specified tools.

Managerial and Operational Responsibilities

  • Recruit, select, train, schedule, coach, and discipline employees
  • Communicate job expectations and conduct performance evaluations
  • Plan and review compensation actions; enforce policies and procedures
  • Participate in annual budget preparation
  • Manage receiving, inventory, equipment utilization, and shipping
  • Analyze workflow, staffing, and equipment layout; implement improvements
  • Manage staffing levels, labor hours, and wages
  • Serve as primary point of contact for customer issues related to quality or service
  • Communicate customer issues internally and lead resolution efforts
  • Delegate work based on incoming orders and production priorities
  • Issue RMAs, generate customer quotes, and forecast materials
  • Approve employee hours and vacation time
  • Organize annual employee training per ISO standards
  • Communicate with customers, sales teams, and vendors

Additional Requirements / Preferred Qualifications

  • Aerospace and Defense experience strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality systems
  • Experience in a clean room and ESD-controlled manufacturing environment
  • Lean manufacturing exposure required
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
  • Strong technical communication skills with customers, engineering, and operations

Compensation Range -

140-160k/year

This is a Permanent position based out of Ronkonkoma, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $72.00 - $85.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
