Operations Manager

Travel: Quarterly travel to Canada and up to 4 customer visits per year to domestic and international military bases

Schedule: 4-day work week (Monday–Thursday)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and confident Operations Manager to lead structural engineering efforts across our U.S. and Canadian operations. This pivotal role will drive technical excellence, resolve complex engineering challenges, and support strategic business development initiatives. Have had experience overseeing design, analysis, and integrity of aircraft structures to ensure they meet safety and regulatory standards. Will have led engineering teams, reviewed technical drawings and stress reports, and approved designs, modifications or repairs, and be knowledgeable of manufacturing engineering objectives and solutions. The position will coordinate with manufacturing, maintenance, and certification authorities to ensure compliance. Will be able to perform analysis as applicable to ensure compliance with DoD and/or FAA airworthiness requirements. Contribute substantially to the product sustainment design enhancements and develop technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems with solutions that are imaginative, thorough, and practicable and consistent with organization objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, analysis, and integrity assurance of aircraft structures to meet safety and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee engineering teams, review technical drawings and stress reports, and approve designs, modifications, and repairs.
  • Ensure alignment with manufacturing engineering objectives and collaborate with cross-functional teams including maintenance and certification authorities.
  • Perform structural and stress analysis to ensure compliance with DoD and/or FAA airworthiness requirements.
  • Drive product sustainment and design enhancements with imaginative, thorough, and practicable solutions.
  • Review non-conformance reports and resolve design issues.
  • Act as a technical authority across structural, stress, and design engineering disciplines.
  • Manage liaison and manufacturing engineers.
  • Support proposal development and customer-facing technical discussions.
  • Streamline in-house engineering processes and ensure product readiness from design to production.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of aerospace experience.
  • Expertise in structural analysis, stress analysis, FEA, and airworthiness compliance.
  • Proven experience in design, sustaining, and manufacturing engineering.
  • Strong ability to analyze and resolve non-conformance issues.
  • U.S. Person status as defined by ITAR; eligible for access to military bases.
  • Demonstrated leadership and confident decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and authoritative technical presence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current or former DER (Designated Engineering Representative) or DAR (Designated Airworthiness Representative) certification.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $160000.00/hr.
