Mechanical Product Engineer

Join our leading team as a Mechanical Product Engineer at our Clemmons, NC facility. You will be pivotal in the technical execution of projects, contributing to new product development, product platforming, and enhancing product reliability. Collaborate with various departments to drive product innovation and efficiency improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, revise, modify, optimize, and reduce costs for products manufactured in our facilities.
  • Troubleshoot vendor and production issues related to product design and specifications.
  • Engage in product maintenance activities alongside CAD Designers, Lab Technicians, and other engineers.
  • Create CAD models, detailed design drawings, write test requests, and conduct hands-on product testing.
  • Review vendor drawings and specifications to determine feasibility and requirements.
  • Resolve project issues and review completed projects with the Engineering Manager.
  • Collaborate with production personnel to solve manufacturing/design issues and implement cost reduction ideas.
  • Work with the Quality Department to address customer repair/rejection concerns and improve products.
  • Participate in engineering and general design review meetings, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Prepare technical data including qualification test procedures, DFMEAs, and installation manuals.
  • Present project status and challenges to management.
  • Coordinate with certifying bodies to obtain and maintain agency certifications for products.
  • Work with internal groups such as Product Management, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Production, Accounting, and Operations.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and OSHA guidelines.

Essential Skills

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • 2-4 years of product design experience.
  • Experience with product assembly, quality, costing, and BOM structure.
  • Proven success in cross-functional product development teams.
  • Working knowledge of 3D solid modeling CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Understanding of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis and Design for Reliability methods.
  • Understanding of Safety/Regulatory Agencies such as UL, ETL, IAPMO, NSF.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis and Computational Fluid Dynamics is a plus.
  • Training in stage gate and VAVE methods is preferred.
  • Knowledge of injection molded and blow molded plastics is a plus.
  • Project Management experience and training is a plus.
  • Ability to travel 10%.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Clemmons, North Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $100000.00/yr. Can earn up to 8% bonus. Typical offer is 2 weeks but can potentially push for 3 weeks.

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Clemmons,NC.
