Mechanical Engineer

The mechanical engineer will be responsible for the full mechanical design cycle — from concept and design calculations to detailed CAD modeling, fabrication support, and final commissioning.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the full mechanical design process of industrial furnaces, ovens, and environmental chambers.
• Perform engineering calculations (thermal, structural, materials) to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable equipment designs.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models, assembly drawings, and fabrication documentation.
• Select appropriate materials, insulation, heating elements, cooling systems, and structural components.
• Collaborate closely with sales, customers, controls engineers, fabricators, and installers to ensure designs meet customer specifications and manufacturing capabilities.
• Provide technical support during equipment assembly, installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning.

Essential Skills:

• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably with industrial furnace, thermal processing, or custom equipment design.
• Strong expertise in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and materials science.
• Extensive experience with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks strongly preferred).
• Experience designing equipment involving combustion systems, electric heating, cooling systems, and safety systems.
• Strong knowledge of industry codes, NFPA, and other relevant industry standards.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and manage deadlines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in aerospace, military, or automotive industry standards.
• Familiarity with PLC-based control systems integration.
• Knowledge of fluid flow, ventilation systems, gas piping, and high-pressure systems.
• PE license or ability to obtain is a plus.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anaheim, California.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
