Mechanical Engineer

Join a dynamic team of Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineers to perform hardware engineering activities. Develop imaginative and effective technical solutions to complex Mechanical Engineering problems. Contribute to concept development, prototyping, production, and testing support.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed design of mechanical structures and subsystems using solid modeling, requirements analysis, trade studies, mechanical engineering analysis including structural, dynamics, and thermal, drafting and tolerance analysis, and human interface design.
  • Prepare high-quality formal engineering documentation such as drawings, specifications, design presentations to customers, test plans, and test reports.
  • Support proposal activities by providing input to cost estimates and risk assessments.
  • Brief peers, management, and customers on design considerations and program status.

Essential Skills:

  • Requirements analysis
  • Mechanical engineering
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Vibration analysis
  • Proficiency in calculations
  • CAD, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks proficiency
  • 2+ years of Mechanical Engineering and Design experience
  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering OR aerospace engineering

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Effective presentation skills
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to operate and lead in a team environment
  • Experience with mechanism development, static/dynamic/structural hand calculations, prototyping, and performance specifications
  • Familiarity with computer-aided design tools; SolidWorks and AutoCAD preferred
  • Experience in designing tests for military environmental, shock, and vibration qualifications
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

Work Environment:

The position operates on a 9/80 schedule, providing every other Friday off. Work takes place in a state-of-the-art facility with ample resources for training and growth. The environment includes lab, shop floor, and office settings. Located in Slidell, LA, where the ARV is being manufactured and tested. Work involves designing and developing test and simulation hardware and software for Electronic Warfare applications, requiring high fidelity software and hardware design.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Slidell, LA.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $90.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
