Mechanical Engineer

Join our team as a Mechanical Engineer, where you will complete engineering projects by analyzing problems and organizing project elements. You will provide expert advice on design processes and construction methods, and lead investigations, prototype, model, and system studies, while analyzing and interpreting data to recommend practical applications.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze problems and establish general performance specifications for components, equipment, systems, and processes.
  • Evaluate mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials.
  • Collaborate with team members to determine project priorities and implications on the work of others.
  • Provide effective solutions and define appropriate deliverables to solve client issues.
  • Approve work schedules and make recommendations for increased resources and special equipment.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in design and AutoCAD.
  • Experience as a mid-level Mechanical Engineer supporting the design of nuclear power plants.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited school.
  • 4-12 years of relevant work experience.
  • Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations applicable to mechanical engineering design in nuclear power plants.
  • Experience designing in the Nuclear industry.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge and implementation of client Engineering Change Control processes for nuclear power generation utilities.
  • Working knowledge of Nuclear Quality Assurance Standards.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Demonstrated capability to interface effectively and gain the trust of station customers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Naperville, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $60.10/hr.
