Mechanical Engineer
We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Ft. Lauderdale. The position involves supporting a variety of government projects, including pump stations, treatment plants, and the plumbing, HVAC, and piping for municipal buildings.
Responsibilities
- Provide expertise in the design and production of mechanical process piping, plumbing, and HVAC systems for Water/Wastewater facilities using recognized industry standards and specifications.
- Perform system calculations and studies for piping, plumbing, and HVAC systems, including layout, sizing, and head loss, using analytical software.
- Mentor and develop junior staff.
- Oversee site investigations and inspections and provide project suggestions to ensure standards and requirements are met.
- Ensure the accuracy and QA/QC of technical documents such as drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Communicate directly with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and designers.
- Attend project meetings and present specific aspects of engineering assignments/projects.
- Seek out new clients and projects to pursue and assist with marketing efforts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
- PE License in the State of Florida a plus
- Minimum 4 years of HVAC, plumbing, and piping system design experience on large industrial or similar facilities.
- Working knowledge of standards and codes pertaining to mechanical and plumbing systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment

There is flexibility with hours for production positions. The company operates in a full-time office setting, performing design and engineering work. The Ft. Lauderdale office consists of six employees, with opportunities to work on high-profile projects and contribute to the growth of South Florida operations.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.08/hr.
