Mechanical Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to lead the full mechanical design cycle for industrial furnaces, ovens, and environmental chambers. This role involves taking concepts through to final commissioning, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable equipment designs.
Responsibilities
- Lead the full mechanical design process of industrial furnaces, ovens, and environmental chambers.
- Perform engineering calculations including thermal, structural, and materials to ensure design integrity.
- Create detailed 3D CAD models, assembly drawings, and fabrication documentation.
- Select appropriate materials, insulation, heating elements, cooling systems, and structural components.
- Collaborate closely with sales, customers, controls engineers, fabricators, and installers to meet specifications and manufacturing capabilities.
- Provide technical support during equipment assembly, installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
Essential Skills
- 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably with industrial furnace, thermal processing, or custom equipment design.
- Strong expertise in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and materials science.
- Extensive experience with 3D CAD software, with SolidWorks strongly preferred.
- Experience designing equipment involving combustion systems, electric heating, cooling systems, and safety systems.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical codes, NFPA, and other relevant industry standards.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and manage deadlines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace, military, or automotive industry standards.
- Familiarity with PLC-based control systems integration.
- Knowledge of fluid flow, ventilation systems, gas piping, and high-pressure systems.
- PE license or ability to obtain is a plus.
Work Environment
The role is 100% onsite with a start time between 6-8 am. The team consists of 15 employees, including 2 engineers. This is a hands-on role with an emphasis on design, requiring close collaboration with production, fabricators, and installers. The work environment is casual, allowing you to wear multiple hats and engage directly with products.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
