Mechanical System Engineer

The position serves as the Mechanical System Engineer for the Utilities Engineering group. It requires a subject matter expert (SME) providing technical oversight for various mechanical utility distribution systems and plants. The Mechanical System Engineer is required to develop a cohesive working relationship with utility system operators and maintenance personnel. No C2C or sponsorship available.

The candidate's day-to-day responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within assigned utility system(s).
• Provide engineering resolutions for system problems/configuration changes.
• Produce and/or oversee the development of technical documentation that govern the system design, configuration, and operation.
• Develop a long range strategic plan for improvements to assigned utility system(s).
• Participate in the development of planned maintenance requirements.
• Support resolution of unplanned events.
• Develop and maintain critical system metrics.
• Participate in project design and implementation process for system related projects.
• Oversee project/system testing to ensure system meets technical requirements and operates at peak performance.

Qualifications:

• BS Degree from an ABET accredited program.
• 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
• The candidate should have extensive knowledge of piping principles, centrifugal pumps and water distribution systems.
• Knowledge of ASME codes and experience with heavy industrial mechanical systems is preferred.

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
