Mechanical Engineer

We're looking for a seasoned Mechanical Engineer with 10+ years of experience to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in process piping within chemical, industrial, or power plant environments. This role involves equipment sizing and selection—including motors, valves, and piping—as well as evaluating and enhancing existing systems. You'll collaborate closely with colleagues to develop secure and reliable system solutions for generating stations and related equipment. Projects range from small-scale utility upgrades to large, turnkey power plant developments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver mechanical engineering and consulting services.
  • Collaborate on designing dependable system solutions for generating stations.
  • Select and size equipment such as pumps, motors, and valves.
  • Create P&IDs and assess existing systems for improvement opportunities.
  • Design site layout drawings, including grading and foundation interface plans.
  • Review and evaluate vendor and customer documentation.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Strong background in process piping for chemical, industrial, or power plant applications.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, drafting, and design.
  • Knowledge of gas turbines, gas turbine engines, and power engineering.
  • Experience in the overhaul and repair of gas turbine power plants.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • At least 7 years of design experience with fluid systems.
  • Familiarity with piping/mechanical systems for gas turbines.
  • Understanding of plant operations and safety interlocks.
  • Knowledge of ANSI, API, AWS, and ASCE standards.
  • Experience with SAP enterprise software.
  • Familiarity with documentation and configuration control systems.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset and critical thinking abilities.

Work Environment:

This hybrid role is based in Connecticut, with 2–3 days per week on-site and flexible hours from 9 AM to 5 PM. The office is located in a mid-rise corporate building in a lively area featuring upscale shopping and dining. The dress code is business casual. Our company specializes in maintenance, overhaul, and repair services for 'F' class industrial gas turbines. Remote work options are available, and we offer competitive compensation.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $62.50/hr.
