Mechanical Designer

Responsibilities

1. Create detailed part drawings for mechanical assemblies using Solidworks.
2. Ensure all designs meet drawing standards and specifications.
3. Conduct hands-on checks on the manufacturing floor to verify dimensions and address any design-related issues.
4. Produce drawings primarily for sheet metal parts used in street sweepers.
5. Collaborate with the manufacturing team to observe machines and take necessary measurements.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Solidworks.
• Experience in sheet metal design and mechanical engineering.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in mechanical design.
• Experience working with heavy industrial equipment, mobile vehicles, or heavy trucks.
• Experience with machining and designing for sweepers or sewers.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntsville, AL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
