Mechanical Design Engineer
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing applicable products using CAD (2D and 3D) systems. You will be responsible for generating production drawings and managing mechanical projects from inception to completion. Responsibilities
- Design products for IBS of America and JUD Corporation using CAD systems.
- Generate production drawings for in-house and subcontracted shops.
- Manage mechanical portions of projects from start to finish.
- Engage in customer relations to obtain necessary information through on-site measurements and product-related discussions.
- Execute technical calculations to ensure safety and integrity of custom mechanical components.
- Prepare technical documentation, procedures, and conduct product inspections and dimensional checks.
- Provide leadership and guidance to support the development of engineering staff.
- Collaborate with manufacturing personnel in the design of jigs and fixtures.
- Support revenue targets by aiding application teams, product, and project managers.
- Create communication documentation to convey key design aspects to clients or partners.
- Maintain release packages and design history files, and participate in development projects and prototype design.
- Perform additional duties as identified by company leadership.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in Mechanical Engineering.
- Advanced skills in performing technically challenging tasks without supervision.
- Proficiency in designing custom technical components for specific customer applications.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD systems.
- Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets.
Work Environment
This role requires 15-20% travel, with up to 30% expected in the first year to customer sites for equipment assessment and understanding. Travel may include international trips, such as to Austria for training. The position is 100% onsite, with a focus on the product line from Austria and potential collaboration with Canadian facilities. The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
