Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves providing innovative design solutions for various projects, creating new products and enhancing existing ones. You will coordinate with multiple departments to deliver on project objectives and support production activities.

Responsibilities Include:

• Lead the mechanical design and integration of heavy truck accessory products such as hydraulic liftgates, tool storage systems, service bodies, utility cranes, winches, PTO-driven systems, and other chassis-mounted equipment.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, controls, hydraulics, and manufacturing teams to develop fully integrated solutions.

• Own product development from concept through production launch, including prototyping, CAD design, FEA, DFM, and validation testing.

• Design robust mechanical structures and assemblies using steel, aluminum, and composite materials for heavy-duty environments.

• Develop and optimize hydraulic systems, including pump/motor selection, circuit design, and performance tuning.

• Ensure seamless electrical integration of powered accessories with truck OEM or aftermarket power and control systems.

• Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation: drawings, BOMs, engineering change orders, and test reports.

• Support validation testing, including environmental, fatigue, load, and field testing.

• Engage with suppliers and customers to define requirements, resolve technical challenges, and ensure product compatibility.

• Support continuous improvement in product performance, cost, and manufacturability.

Skills & Qualifications

• 8+ years experience designing heavy industrial multi component products(Creo and heavy trucking would be nice)
• Experience designing hydraulic systems(pump/motor selection, performance tuning)
• Engineering Documentation exp(Drawings, BOMS, Change orders, test reports)
• Experience working cross-functionally with other Engineering disciplines

Nice to Have

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Sheet metal design experience
• Creo design experience

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $57.69/hr.
