This role will provide engineering-level manufacturing support for the Flexrotor program in a fast-paced, startup-style aerospace production environment. It supports process development, production issue resolution, tooling validation, and documentation execution under direction of Manufacturing Engineers to ensure production continuity, quality compliance, and process maturity. This is a hands-on manufacturing engineering role requiring strong floor presence and real-time decision-making capability.
Process Engineering & Documentation (40%)
- Develop and refine manufacturing processes for mechanical and electrical assemblies
- Author and update detailed work instructions
- Ensure process flow alignment with released engineering definition
- Support MBOM audits and configuration alignment reviews
- Identify process risks and propose mitigation plans
- Develop and refine manufacturing processes for composite assemblies, including layup, bonding, curing, trimming, and structural integration
- Support composite material handling controls, consumable usage optimization, and cure process documentation
Production Support (35%)
- Provide daily technical support to production floor
- Investigate and resolve build issues in coordination with Quality and Engineering
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring manufacturing issues.
- Support closure of manufacturing action items.
- Improve build repeatability and reduce rework/WIP blockers.
- Support composite build issue resolution including fit-up, bonding quality, and structural alignment concerns
- Assist in maintaining process control in evolving composite production environments
Tooling & Validation Support (20%)
- Support design and improvement of fixtures and tooling concepts
- Support composite tooling validation including molds, cure fixtures, bonding fixtures, and trimming tools
- Assist in validation testing for critical-to-quality features
- Support in-process inspection planning implementation
- Assist in FAI and production readiness activities
- Evaluate ergonomic and workflow improvements
- Evaluate and improve manufacturing floor layout to maximize efficiency, material flow, and workstation utilization
- Identify opportunities to optimize floor space, reduce movement waste, and improve production flow
Experience Level: Intermediate Level
This role is onsite in the White Salmon/Hood River area. Only local candidates who would be willing to work onsite there will be considered.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $65.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
