Manufacturing Engineer

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for new process development, capital equipment procurement, and driving continuous improvement in current processes relative to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of manufacturing strategy within areas of responsibility.
  • Conceptualize, specify, install, and qualify equipment and tooling.
  • Plan and lead projects from start to finish.
  • Support new product introductions through Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
  • Estimate staffing requirements, production cycle times, costs, and capacity to provide data for operational decisions.
  • Manage day-to-day project activities including planning, scheduling, and coordinating work activities.
  • Create drawings directly or through others.
  • Create and maintain process documentation.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and process issues.
  • Lead formal problem-solving initiatives leveraging 8D methodology.
  • Serve as an in-house expert on metal forming processes.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to peers and operators to help them develop their knowledge and solve problems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or extensive equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience supporting metal fabrication processes and associated tooling, dies, automation, etc.
  • 3+ years of project management experience.
  • Experience with Industrial Controls and familiarity with automation.
  • Experience in the acquisition and installation of new equipment and processes.
  • Experience with 3D solid modeling software, preferably SolidWorks.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lomira, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $110000.00/hr.
