Manufacturing Engineer

This position is responsible for implementing process improvements in the Final Assembly area for Electronic Control Units (ECUs). The role involves project management, leading process improvements, and employing both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting to enhance efficiencies. The engineer will work with automated assembly equipment, including robotics such as Fanuc and Yamaha, and PLCs. Modifications to existing equipment, tooling, or fixtures may be made using AutoCAD or SolidWorks. The engineer will create and update documents used by team members and the maintenance crew and may use SQL databases to review data collected on processes. Additionally, they will help implement a preventive maintenance schedule for use by the maintenance staff.

Lead process improvements in the Final Assembly area for ECUs.

Utilize mechanical and electrical troubleshooting to increase efficiencies.

Work with automated assembly equipment, including robotics and PLCs.

Use AutoCAD or SolidWorks for equipment, tooling, or fixture modifications.

Create and update documents for team and maintenance crew use.

Utilize SQL databases to review process data.

Implement a preventive maintenance schedule for the maintenance staff.

Experience in manufacturing engineering.

Proficiency in SolidWorks or AutoCAD.

Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.

Knowledge of electrical and electronics engineering.

Familiarity with equipment, C++, Visual Basic, and surface-mount technology.

Capability in mechanical and mechanical engineering.

Experience with plant layout, Cpk studies, product launch, Kaizen, and fixture design.

BS Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or related field.

Knowledge of PLC ladder logic and HMIs.

Demonstrated ability to learn quickly.

The work environment is an electronic manufacturing facility that is mostly clean-room, requiring the use of smocks and ESD shoes. The organization is large, necessitating the ability to work cross-functionally with various groups such as Quality, Production, Machine Build, and Design Engineering. The role involves a mix of on-floor and desk work, depending on project requirements.

This is a 12-month Contract to Hire position based out of Harrodsburg, Kentucky.

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $38.00/hr.
