Manufacturing Engineer
Join a leading provider in aerospace and military technologies, specializing in designing, manufacturing, and delivering high-performance solutions globally. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the execution of a Manufacturing Readiness Assessment and implementing manufacturing processes for a mobile decontamination system designed for U.S. Special Forces.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the execution of a Manufacturing Readiness Assessment to assess and establish manufacturing processes and controls.
- Implement initial manufacturing processes including work stations, process flow of production line, and work breakdown structures.
- Collaborate with project and engineering teams, production planning, and personnel to develop work order routers and manufacturing documentation.
- Select resources for effective part manufacturing and provide instructions to enhance repeatability and productivity.
- Estimate material costs, special processing, and labor requirements for new products.
- Identify and implement manufacturing process solutions to achieve high quality, cost savings, and reduced lead times.
- Influence process standardization, develop work center capabilities, and improve capacities.
- Review drawings for manufacturability and verify their accuracy and completeness.
- Develop manufacturing routers and implement work instructions, procedures, and documentation to enhance customer satisfaction and performance.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of formal manufacturing engineering experience.
- Proficiency in manufacturing principles for low volume/high mix complex Defense/Military projects.
- Experience with mechanical assemblies such as fans, gears, motors, and HVAC-like systems.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes like CNC machining, welding, soldering, and complex assembly work instructions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in plant layout and process layout projects.
- Knowledge of manufacturing efficiency, continuous improvement, and lean principles.
- Familiarity with AS9100, Six Sigma, project management, and SolidWorks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tustin, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $65.00/hr.
