Manufacturing Engineer
This position is responsible for developing and maintaining cost-effective processes and procedures for parts manufactured at the facility. In addition, this role provides technical support to cross-functional departments, coordinates project activities, maintains manufacturing plans in the ERP system, identifies continuous improvement opportunities, and maintains appropriate documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain cost-effective processes and procedures.
- Advocate and implement the highest quality standards and LEAN principles.
- Assess and communicate technical specifications to all departments.
- Provide design for manufacturability feedback to appropriate audiences.
- Identify and complete continuous improvement projects.
- Create and coordinate engineering studies.
- Assist in the development of tool design and CNC programming.
- Design and implement fixtures.
- Create and modify through change control, BOM/BOO routings within the ERP system.
- Assist with all costing and quoting functions.
- Resolve daily manufacturing issues per LEAP structure.
- Maintain appropriate documentation for engineering changes and manufacturing processes.
- Coordinate measurement methods with quality programmers and engineers.
- Maintain machining and secondary operational processes.
Essential Skills:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably contract manufacturing.
- Experience in machining (Mill and Swiss).
- Knowledge of medical manufacturing, estimation, process improvement, process engineering, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with continuous improvement, cost estimation, Six Sigma, tooling, SolidWorks, CNC programming, BOM, ERP system, design for manufacturing, and change control.
- Understanding of ISO standards, milling machines, and lathe machines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience with CAD software.
- Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment, especially Word and Excel.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Experience in the design and selection of fixturing and tooling for complex parts.
- Experience in a precision machine shop environment.
- LEAN / Six Sigma training and demonstrated application.
- Experience with CAM software; Swiss or Milling.
- Experience working within an ISO environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
