Manufacturing Engineer

Immediate Manufacturing Engineering Opportunity!

We are seeking three skilled Manufacturing Engineers, including at least one High-Level Engineer, to join our team. You will be pivotal in providing technical support within the manufacturing process, ensuring compliance with customer and industry standards, assisting in planning and production procedures, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures for machining.
• Analyze and improve manufacturing processes and methods to reduce costs, improve quality, and increase efficiency.
• Evaluate and solve production problems, spending 80% of your time in the office and 20% on the production floor.
• Conduct contract reviews by evaluating customer purchase orders and drawings, and create manufacturing plans based on gathered information.
• Create manufacturing documentation such as travelers, sketches, technique sheets, and all supporting documentation needed during the production process.
• Evaluate and approve drawings, routings, specs, and other documents.
• Implement corrective and preventative actions as provided by customers and industry oversight committees.
• Manage projects by scheduling, assembling, coordinating, managing, and driving progress.
• Serve as the point of contact for assigned projects, responding to inquiries, and communicating project status to management and the team.
• Communicate manufacturing intent, preference, and capabilities with customers, suppliers, and industry.
• Facilitate and troubleshoot various problems associated with developing complex systems or with the coordination, development, and design of projects until completion.

Essential Skills:

• Experience in manufacturing engineering, with a minimum of 7+ years for Principal Engineers and 3+ years for Junior Engineers.
• Proficiency in CNC machining processes, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in machining manufacturing environments.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within aerospace manufacturing.
• Knowledge of AS9100 or ISO9000 standards.
• Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in aerospace manufacturing is preferred, although similar experience in automotive or medical device industries may be considered.
• Mechanical aptitude and six sigma process improvement skills.
• Experience in production support, work instruction, and tooling.

Work Environment:

The role is based in Cerritos, CA, within our aerospace manufacturing division. Our medium-sized company operates in the US and Europe, serving as a tier one supplier for complex components. Expect a collaborative environment where ownership and initiative are encouraged. The office environment is functional but outdated, with a strong focus on respect and teamwork. The team frequently engages in company outings and operates within an industrial machine shop setting. The Cerritos site has approximately 65 employees, with a dedicated engineering team composed of Manufacturing Engineers, CNC programmers, and interns.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cerritos, California.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
