Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a dynamic Manufacturing Engineer to join our evolving department, which is creating hybrid engineers capable of handling both methods/operations and design. The role focuses on developing operation sheets and performing tooling design, primarily involving military parts with minimal R&D. The position requires meticulous attention to detailed specifications and manufacturing methods.

Responsibilities:

  • Review customer specifications for manufacturing requirements.
  • Create detailed assembly instructions and operation sheets for production.
  • Interface with the quality assurance team, request RFVs, and communicate with government entities for technical clarifications.
  • Collaborate with touch labor teams during first production runs to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure proper documentation flows to the shop floor, maintaining accuracy and completeness.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing engineering and process improvement.
  • Proficiency in creating assembly instructions and operation sheets.
  • Experience with tooling design and ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing methodizing for mechanical parts and continuous improvement practices.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards within the aerospace defense industry.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • A degree in engineering is preferred; however, candidates with 10–15 years of relevant experience without a degree may be considered.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience, with 3 years acceptable if particularly strong.
  • Background in aerospace/defense is strongly preferred but not mandatory.

Work Environment:

This position requires 100% onsite presence from Monday to Friday, with a flexible start time between 6:30 AM and 8:30 AM at the manager's discretion. The company offers a collaborative culture, is privately owned, and has approximately 100 employees. It is located on Long Island, featuring a 30,000 sq. ft. corporate headquarters and main manufacturing and engineering facility, alongside a 57,000 sq. ft. division for large composite structures.

This is a Permanent position based out of Hauppauge, NY.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00/yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
