Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in developing and maintaining processes and parameters for all phases of our programs, from pre-prototype to post-launch. You will be integral in ensuring efficient program execution and supporting quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the process parameters for all program phases, including pre-prototype, pre-launch, SOP, post-launch, program balance out, and service.
  • Create and maintain BOMs (bill of materials) for assigned programs.
  • Implement engineering changes in Customer, Corporate, and Plant Systems, conducting trials and validation runs, and ensuring proper training for manufacturing personnel.
  • Support team requirements for quality roadmaps, corrective actions, continuous improvement activities, scrap reductions, and OEE improvements.
  • Develop and maintain PFME's Process flows, operator Standard Work Instructions, and ensure compliance with TS requirements.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of statistical methods and SPC charts.
  • Coordinate, track, and implement scrap reduction initiatives, root causes, and operation improvements for assigned programs.
  • Develop cell layouts to optimize material flow and address ergonomic issues.
  • Track tool designs and builds, ensuring that tooling meets guidelines for safety, ergonomics, robustness, and overall quality and craftsmanship.
  • Monitor material usage during all trials/prototypes.
  • Conduct scheduled Process Walks.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
  • Lead projects for existing production and new programs using APQP and Lean principles to meet timing, budget, and performance goals.

Essential Skills

  • 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering within an automotive or industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience in managing timelines or projects.
  • Proficiency in developing SOPs, work instructions, BOMs, and process flows.
  • Experience in process improvement and continuous improvement methodologies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in the automotive industry.
  • Mechanical background.

Work Environment

This position is fully on-site at our Hebron, KY location, with working hours from 8 am to 5 pm. You will be part of a team-oriented environment with a wonderful company culture. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both manufacturing and project management.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hebron, KY.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $40.87 - $45.67/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
