Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with over two years of custom machine design experience. The ideal candidate will excel in creating custom designs using Solidworks according to customer specifications. Projects typically last 3-6 weeks, and you will apply practical engineering principles, procedures, materials, and equipment throughout.

Responsibilities include:

• Design custom machines using Solidworks per customer specifications.
• Collaborate with other teams to bring designs to life.
• Apply engineering principles, procedures, materials, and equipment to design projects.
• Utilize 2D and 3D CAD tools effectively.
• Manage projects and tasks using PDM and ERP systems.
• Handle engineering change orders and maintain bill of materials.

Must have:

• 5+ years working in a manufacturing environment (experience in machine design, metal forming, tool & die design, etc.)
• 2+ years experience working with industrial metal welding (robotic welding is a PLUS)
• 2+ years in leadership/supervisory role
• 2D and 3D CAD proficiency (preferably Autocad and Solidworks)
• Lean manufacturing experience (5S, error proofing, etc.)
• Corrective action experience (8D, 5Y, root cause, FMEA, etc.)

Job type & location:

This is a contract to hire position based out of North Canton, OH.

Pay and benefits:

The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $48.08/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
