Lead Substation Engineer

The Substation Engineer will be responsible for performing testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of protection and control systems within electrical substations. This role ensures the reliability and safety of power system operations through accurate relay and RTU testing, configuration, and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform relay testing and calibration using industry-standard test sets (SEL, GE, Beckwith, ABB, Basler).
  • Conduct RTU testing and verification for proper communication and functionality.
  • Utilize Doble Protection Suite for advanced protection system analysis and testing.
  • Work with three-phase power systems to ensure proper operation and protection coordination.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and relay logic for troubleshooting and commissioning.
  • Document test results, prepare reports, and maintain compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical issues and implement system improvements.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures during field and lab work.

Job Type & Location: This is a permanent position based out of Kittery, ME.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $160,000.00 - $190,000.00/yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
