Lab Operations Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Lab Operations Specialist to support scientists in managing their equipment and ensuring seamless operations within the laboratory. This role involves handling vendor management of lab suppliers, interacting with scientists to ensure the availability of consumables, and maintaining inventory through a Quality Management System (QMS).

Responsibilities

• Manage vendor relationships for all lab suppliers.
• Interact with scientists to ensure all consumables are stocked and available.
• Purchase and order appropriate inventory, maintaining records in the QMS system.
• Fulfill internal requests and maintain stockroom and point of use inventories as per customer requirements.
• Communicate with supervisors regarding supply stock, material needs, and software upgrades.
• Assist with laboratory supply stockroom and site inventories.
• Collect and provide metrics as required by management.

Essential Skills

• Experience in inventory control, lab operations, and vendor management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with management, employees, and customers.
• Team player committed to working in a safe, high-performance, and quality-driven environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in bench testing, buffer preparation, and media preparation.
• Knowledge of stockroom management and lab support.

Work Environment

This is a 100% onsite role with working hours from 7:00am to 3:30pm. On the first two Fridays of every month, you will be required to stay until 5:00pm to oversee the custodians. A high degree of communication skills, hard work, and attention to detail are essential.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Somerville, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
