Instrumentation Engineer

Now Hiring: Instrumentation Technician

As an Instrumentation Engineer, you will evaluate soil, rock, and underground water to determine the feasibility and design specifications for construction projects. You will be stationed onsite at Offutt Air Force Base to conduct geotechnical analysis and study the conditions of construction sites. The role involves using mapping, GIS, and design expertise to plan and conduct geotechnical explorations effectively.

Responsibilities

1. Plan and conduct geotechnical exploration effectively.
2. Perform field and environmental investigations for construction projects.
3. Inspect and check quality while participating in the execution of soil sampling.
4. Conduct site walks and surveys using instruments like piezometers, inclinometers, total stations, and Trimbles.
5. Analyze geotechnical findings, perform calculations, and prepare data reports.
6. Provide direction to the technical team in field inspection activities.
7. Interact with customers and team members to ensure timely project completion.
8. Review construction design proposals and approve geotechnical aspects.

Essential Skills

• Must have a minimum associate degree in construction management or civil engineering.
• Experience in mapping, civil surveying, and design.
• 1-5 years of commercial construction experience.
• Proficient in construction inspection, survey, instrumentation, and documentation.
• Strong understanding of geotechnical practices including exploration, analysis, and design.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Preferred experience as an inspector or observer.
• Ability to manage a team and aspire to move into a project engineering role.
• Demonstrated experience in client service management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills.

Work Environment

This role involves working 20% of the time in-office for planning and documentation. The rest of the time will be spent at a commercial construction site, which is a loud and dirty environment. You will be using total stations and Trimble for surveying. A company vehicle will be provided for transport between the office and job site. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
