Sales Engineer

Respond quickly to customer requests for pricing, lead times, and technical product details. Monitor and follow up on sales opportunities from external sources and leads generated via the company website. Take initiative in identifying and developing new business prospects. Prepare and track quotations to successfully convert leads into confirmed orders. Provide sales support to Outside Sales Engineers and Distributors (domestic and international), including documentation and technical specifications. Utilize CRM/ERP systems daily to accurately record and report customer information. Build strong internal relationships with engineering, supply chain, customer service, and outside sales teams to ensure timely deliveries and resolve customer issues. Review customer specifications, drawings, and related documents to create accurate cost estimates and proposals. Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to address technical challenges. Deliver technical assistance—both verbal and written—for troubleshooting, technical data, and product information. Maintain expert-level knowledge of products, applications (heating liquids and gases across multiple industries), and internal program management requirements. Share customer insights with Marketing to support strategic initiatives. Demonstrate strong organizational and writing skills to prepare proposals and pricing while managing multiple projects in development. Support project management and scheduling for all RFQs, including new and existing customer opportunities. Ensure quotations are accurate and delivered promptly to meet customer deadlines. Assist in finalizing customer quotations and review contracts for accuracy during order entry. Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications: Engineering degree preferred (ME or EE), or equivalent technical experience. 5 plus years of technical industrial sales experience. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills (written and verbal). Possess technical and analytical aptitude. Possess good business and financial acumen. Demonstrate the ability to work as a team as well as self-directed. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel). Very strong work ethic, being self-motivated and goal orientated as often you are responsible for your own productivity and results.

Job Type & Location: This is a permanent position based out of Geneva, IL. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $80,000.00 - $85,000.00/yr. Offers a competitive salary, full benefit package, including medical, dental, vision, life, EAP and 401k with employer match, annual bonus if company hits target numbers.
