Industrial Simulation Engineer

The Industrial Simulation Engineer will be responsible for modeling an entire factory using inputs from Industrial Engineering (IE) and Manufacturing Engineering (ME) teams. This role involves integrating part quantity analysis, production schedules, time standards, and manufacturing process details into a comprehensive solution that includes automation and controls where applicable. The engineer will be responsible for maintaining the deliverables to accommodate continuous changes provided by ME and IE teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct part and product flow analysis.
  • Create CAD layouts in both 2D and 3D.
  • Analyze cycle time and sequence of operations.
  • Perform ergonomic analysis.
  • Conduct system throughput analysis.
  • Perform robot reach and payload studies.
  • Simulate robot paths.
  • Select and implement automated equipment.
  • Manage system content (B.O.M.).
  • Apply automation and robotics.
  • Collaborate with OpX, Shop Operations, and Facility Management to implement standardized solutions and industry best practices.
  • Develop solutions with site CORE, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineering teams.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental Health & Safety and Preventative Maintenance requirements.
  • Lead projects to propose automated manufacturing systems that meet production goals.
  • Execute the gated process for system engineering.
  • Manage open issues and action items.
  • Communicate with business partners locally, remotely, internally, and externally.
  • Participate in the capital procurement process to execute automation projects.

Essential Skills:

  • 5-10 years of industrial experience.
  • Experience in system integration, including designing process flows and continuous improvement.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly automated manufacturing systems.
  • Experience with plant simulation using Siemens Plant Simulate, AutoCAD, Siemens NX, and SketchUp.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with Siemens Process Simulate and/or Fanuc Roboguide.
  • Engineering degree.

Work Environment:

This position operates on a first shift from 6 AM to 2 PM, with flexibility to start at 7 or 8 AM if needed.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract position based out of Lansing, MI.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $75.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
