Industrial Engineer

The primary responsibility of an Industrial Engineer is to design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial production processes. This includes human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics, material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination. The role focuses on increasing productivity by effectively managing people, business organization methods, and technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives for finished products.
  • Develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient use of staff and facilities.
  • Recommend methods for improving the utilization of personnel, materials, and utilities.
  • Plan and establish sequences of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products, promoting efficient utilization.
  • Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards.
  • Coordinate quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize costs.
  • Estimate production costs and assess the impact of product design changes for management review and control.
  • Draft and design layouts of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency using drafting tools and computers.

Essential Skills:

  • Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Team player and detail-oriented.
  • Basic ability to make sketches, engineering drawings, and common computations.
  • Basic knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Basic knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people.
  • Experience with computer applications and software related to the engineering field, such as MS Visual Basic, MS Project, and ABAQUS.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract position based out of Lake Orion, MI.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $34.50 - $34.50/hr.
