Industrial Engineer (2nd Shift)

As an Industrial Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and managing integrated production and service delivery systems. Your focus will be on ensuring performance, reliability, maintainability, schedule adherence, and cost control within the production site. The role aims to achieve profitability, effectiveness, adaptability, responsiveness, quality, and continuous improvement of products and services throughout their life cycles.

Responsibilities

  1. Participate as a project team member in implementing projects that eliminate waste through standard Industrial Engineering processes. This includes Capital Equipment Requests, Capabilities Studies, Plant Layouts, Tool Design, and Standard Work.
  2. Develop time standards for process steps to be used in the Product-Process-Time database (IEDB).
  3. Gather and analyze Industrial Engineering metrics for assigned customers or areas.
  4. Coordinate layout and facility moves for assigned customers or areas.
  5. Collect, analyze, and review IEDB data to ensure accuracy and compliance with the standard process.
  6. Monitor SAP and Manufacturing Execution System configurations to ensure compliance with standardized system configurations.
  7. Gather and develop data for quotes.
  8. Coach, mentor, and train engineers within the Industrial Engineering team.
  9. Support and maintain all lower-level Industrial Engineering essential duties and responsibilities.
  10. Ensure the standardization of processes throughout the site in alignment with global, regional, and site directions.
  11. Support the Lean organization by developing a solid process foundation and data integrity to facilitate process improvement.
  12. Comply with all procedures within the company security policy.
  13. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in industrial engineering and process improvement.
  • Experience in time studies and with the Product Process Time Database.
  • Experience with layouts and data-focused tasks.
  • Understanding and application of a broad range of industrial engineering tools such as work measurement, process mapping, facilities, and workstation design.
  • Strong analytical ability.
  • Proven record of successful change management, implementing and managing continuous improvements, and cost reduction programs.
  • Strong communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD skills are required.
  • Experience in mechanical assembly, kitting, and kanban.

Work Environment

This position operates in a dynamic production environment where you will leverage technologies such as SAP and Manufacturing Execution Systems. The role is based on the 2nd shift, and attire is casual, suitable for a production setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Memphis, Tennessee.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
