This position will interact with various technical teams by conducting test plans that provide critical, objective, unbiased data and observations to support the development of new products and enhance the understanding of existing, legacy, and competitive products. The individual will ensure that the highest level of design quality, integrity, and performance are maintained with strict adherence to all applicable policies and procedures including local codes and safety.
• Applies knowledge of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics to efficiently translate testing needs into executable test setups using plumbing, electrical, and mechanical skills from written and verbal instructions.
• Instruments test setups, equipment, and samples for data acquisition.
• Builds prototypes from existing units or the ground up.
• Diagnoses electrical and mechanical faults.
• Applies reasoning skills to evaluate effectiveness and validity of test results.
• Collect, analyze, and summarize test data in reports for publication to Engineering staff.
• Contributes to the Engineering team by participating in daily laboratory activities, observing test methodologies, and applying knowledge and experience to recommend improvements to the efficiency and effectiveness of existing products and Laboratory testing schemes.
• Ensures the integrity of laboratory facilities and equipment is maintained at all times.
• Maintains company sensitive information in confidence.
• Review and interpret product standards and test procedures.
• Conscientious of all Safety protocols.
• Minimum 3 years independent work experience in the HVAC / Refrigeration field. Applicants with a formal education in HVAC / refrigeration who can successfully demonstrate the required qualifications may be considered.
• Must be EPA Section 608 Type II certified.
• Working knowledge of Refrigeration cycle theory.
• Competent with brazing, reclaiming, charging, & leak testing refrigeration systems.
• Self-motivated. Able to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
• Competent with intermediate mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic principles.
• Strong aptitude and experience with testing and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Team player with strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and reasoning skills.
• Ability to interpret test results and troubleshoot test setups.
• Proven problem solving, analytical, and logical reasoning skills.
• Literate in the use of Microsoft Office programs and Data Acquisition Systems
• Unquestionable ethics
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate observations and present test methodology and results to other Lab Techs and staff.
• Successfully pass and maintain forklift certification.
• Proficient in the use of basic measurement and instrumentation equipment.
• Clearly Speak, Read, and Write using the English language.
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr.
