FPGA Engineer

The position involves full-cycle FPGA development from concept through production, encompassing architecture definition, design, simulation, and verification. The role emphasizes developing low-power, high-speed interfaces for imaging payloads and includes tasks such as system simulation, synthesis, resource and power utilization analysis, place and route, timing analysis, and integration.

Responsibilities:

• Develop FPGA designs from concept through production.
• Define architecture and design for FPGA systems.
• Perform simulation and verification of FPGA designs.
• Focus on developing low-power, high-speed interfaces for imaging payloads.
• Conduct system simulation, synthesis, resource and power utilization analysis.
• Execute place and route, timing analysis, and integration of FPGA designs.
• Engage in hardware debugging and integration using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and multimeters.

Essential Skills:

• Expertise in FPGA development with 10+ years of experience.
• Proficiency in VHDL or Verilog.
• Experience with space flight hardware.
• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with image processing.
• Active security clearance is a plus.
• Space Flight experience is highly desired.

Work Environment:

The role involves supporting or leading the architecture of imaging payloads. Work will be done in collaboration with the US Space Force Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture, contributing to missile warning, secure communications, positioning, navigation, and tactical data transport. The work environment includes using test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.

Job Type & Location:

This is a contract position based out of Cypress, California.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $106.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
