Field Service Technician

This position is based at the TSMC location in North Phoenix, and no travel is required. The role involves professional interaction with both external and internal customers and departments, typically working under the guidance of a Technical Service Engineer.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine installations and/or maintenance on assigned products.
  • Use corporate processes to locate software revisions and appropriate documentation.
  • Verify software status.
  • Conduct log analysis of system errors to determine hardware or software issues under supervision.
  • Troubleshoot issues for both hardware and software effectively.
  • Serve as a liaison between the customer and company engineering for daily site operations when necessary.
  • Prepare and submit all necessary paperwork with supervision.

Essential Skills

  • Troubleshooting and service skills.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints, identifying components at the component level.
  • Experience with electrical diagnostic tools and familiarity with shop/hand tools.
  • Prior experience in electromechanics and engaging with customers.
  • Understanding of motorized products, belts, and proximity sensors.
  • Competence in diagnosing and fixing electromechanical systems.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in electromechanics.
  • 2+ years in technical field service within the semiconductor sector/equipment manufacturing or education in Electromechanical Engineering, Technical School, or Military Certification.
  • Basic understanding of preventive maintenance, multimeter usage, and working in cleanroom environments.

Work Environment

The work is onsite at TSMC in North Phoenix. Employees must be able to work safely in a clean room environment near moving mechanical parts and electrical systems. The role may involve working in high, precarious, or confined spaces, with potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical shock risks, and vibrations. The noise level is typically moderate. Employees are expected to climb ladders frequently, sit occasionally, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Regular lifting/moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting/moving up to 50 pounds is required. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Field Service Engineers will work onsite at TSMC Fab, with jeans and a polo shirt as appropriate attire. The position operates on a compressed workweek schedule, alternating between 3 and 4 days of work each week, with overtime available. Candidates can specify their preferred shift but should be open to BE or FE assignments. Initial training involves travel to Oregon for the first two weeks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $28.00/hr.
