As a Field Service Engineer, you will support the Engineering team by testing, troubleshooting, installing, and commissioning machines for our customers. You will also provide services for existing machines in the field. This role involves significant travel to customer sites and requires expertise in troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLCs and drives.
Travel to customer sites to provide installation and commissioning services for automation machinery.
Troubleshoot primarily Allen Bradley PLCs and some Siemens PLCs and drives.
Install and commission automation machinery into mills.
Receive training to enhance proficiency in programming from scratch.
Experience in troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLCs or similar types of PLCs.
Proficiency with motors, drives, and PLCs.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
Experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, or ABB drives.
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or a similar field) with 2-3 years of field experience OR an Associate's Degree in Electrical (or a similar field) with 5 years of field experience.
Experience in the metal, steel, or aluminum industry is a plus.
Strong customer service skills.
Knowledge of HMI, AC/DC motors, servo motors, and servo drives.
This position requires approximately 75% travel, primarily within the eastern United States including locations such as Pittsburgh, Indiana, Cleveland, Michigan, Kentucky, West Virginia, Mississippi, and Texas. While rare, there may be opportunities to work outside the U.S. The role involves a family-based environment with opportunities to learn from experienced engineers. The use of a company vehicle is optional, but employees are typically reimbursed $0.56/mile for personal vehicle use. A per diem of $55/day is offered. When not traveling, the role is based in Cleveland.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, OH.
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $48.08/hr.
