Field Service Engineer

As a Field Service Engineer, you will initiate, install, troubleshoot, and optimize customer systems utilizing advanced Direct Digital Control (DDC) technology. You will serve as a local contact for technical issues, leading in the field and offering effective solutions for increasingly complex system issues. Additionally, you will deliver turnkey projects on a small to medium scale, ensuring systems, including controls, sensors, and software, operate properly. Your role will also involve loading software, configuring trends, alarms, and reports, managing time effectively to ensure customer satisfaction, and providing site-specific training to owners/operators on the complete system.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate, install, troubleshoot, and optimize customer systems utilizing advanced Direct Digital Control (DDC) technology.
  • Serve as local contact for technical issues and lead in the field.
  • Offer effective solutions for increasingly complex system issues.
  • Provide turnkey project delivery on small to medium projects.
  • Ensure proper operation of systems, including controls, sensors, and software.
  • Load software, configure trends, alarms, and reports.
  • Implement time management strategies to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate and document the status and details of projects for the customer.
  • Provide site-specific training to owners/operators on the complete system.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of experience in Building Automation Systems, Controls, HVAC, or a technical field.
  • Experience with building automation software, such as WebCTRL.
  • Basic knowledge of navigating and integrating into a variety of building automation systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networks, including wireless technology.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
  • Proficiency in English verbal and written communication.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with PID Loops, BACnet, and MODbus.
  • Experience with automation and controls installs and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of VAV systems, AHUs, pumps, and chillers.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Familiarity with lighting, fire safety, and data center maintenance repair.

Work Environment

The job site is at the Switch Data Center and other client locations. The typical working hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with a 40-hour work week. Any additional hours worked are paid out hourly. PPE is provided, and a truck is also provided for work sites 80 miles or further, with hotel accommodations and paid meals. Some projects may be located on the outskirts of Arizona.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $45.00/hr.
