Field Engineer

We are looking for a hands-on Field Engineer with strong mechanical and electrical skills to maintain and support building automation systems. This role focuses on troubleshooting equipment, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring systems run smoothly. You'll work closely with customers and team members to keep operations efficient and reliable. This is a 6-12-month contract to hire position.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on controllers, servers, and related hardware.
• Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components of building systems.
• Monitor equipment schedules and recommend adjustments for better performance.
• Complete assigned tasks on time while meeting quality standards.
• Keep clear records of work performed and provide updates to customers.
• Assist with basic training for owners and operators on system use.

Essential Skills

• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Basic understanding of building automation systems (training provided).
• Ability to read and interpret Architectural, Mechanical, and Electrical blueprints.
• Comfortable using Microsoft 365 for documentation and communication.
• Good communication skills for working with customers and team members.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors or Associate degree, Technical Certificate, or equivalent experience in HVAC, Electrical, or Mechanical fields.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical/electrical systems.
• Willingness to learn building automation and networking basics.

Work Environment

This role combines onsite work with occasional remote support. You'll work in a dynamic environment where problem-solving and hands-on skills are key. Training will be provided to help you grow into advanced system support.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
