Entry-Level Field Power Distribution Engineer

Join a respected engineering and consulting firm as an Entry-Level Field Power Distribution Engineer and gain hands-on experience working on essential utility projects that directly serve communities across North Carolina. You'll be part of a collaborative team supporting small municipalities with reliable and efficient power distribution solutions.

Field-Based Work: Conduct site visits to collect data, assess conditions, and support construction and installation activities.

Design Assistance: Help design overhead and underground electrical distribution systems.

Technical Analysis: Perform load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and equipment sizing.

Documentation: Assist in preparing engineering drawings, specifications, and reports using AutoCAD and GIS tools.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, senior engineers, and utility partners to ensure successful project execution.

Safety & Standards: Ensure all work complies with industry codes, safety regulations, and best practices.

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in utility field work, construction, renewables, surveying, or similar.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, GIS, and Microsoft Office.
• Tech-savvy with experience using field data collection tools.
• Understanding of electrical distribution systems and safety protocols.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to work outdoors in various conditions.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
