Fasteners Quality Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Fasteners Quality Engineer to lead part evaluations for the 'Spot Buy/Stockpile' effort, performing A to B comparisons and providing lab testing support for Supply Operations. The successful candidate will be instrumental in raising alerts for any new or ongoing troubled supplier issues to ensure continuous production.
Responsibilities
- Lead part evaluations for 'Spot Buy/Stockpile' projects, performing A to B comparisons and providing lab testing support.
- Raise alerts for new or continuing troubled supplier issues to maintain production flow.
- Attend troubled supplier meetings to assess risks at engine plants and collaborate with teams to mitigate potential shutdowns.
- Conduct and manage PV test plans for all resourced troubled supplier parts.
- Perform A to B comparisons, coordinating with new suppliers and ensuring fatigue data accuracy.
- Manage the list of resource parts, supplier information, and communication between purchasing, plant, and application engineers.
- Execute fastener commonization where feasible.
- Manage critical engine fastener supplier evaluations.
- Perform tasks on-site at client facilities in Dearborn, MI, with travel required to engine and assembly plants and supplier visits.
- Lead team meetings and document lessons learned.
- Proactively follow through on responsible activities and required documentation to meet milestones and deliverables.
Essential Skills
- 10+ years of demonstrated automotive experience with a focus on fasteners for powertrain and automotive systems.
- Knowledge of automotive fasteners, joint design, and power tool technology.
- Expertise in quality tools such as D/PFMEA, Global 8D, Six Sigma, failure analysis, and prevention.
- Experience with automotive systems, components, and assembly methods.
- Proficiency in testing and data analysis.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgical, Materials Science & Engineering).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated, team-oriented, and capable of working collaboratively.
Work Environment
The position requires working on-site at client facilities in Dearborn, MI, with necessary travel to client engine and assembly plants and supplier visits. It involves managing communication across various teams and suppliers, ensuring the smooth execution of fastener quality evaluations and improvements.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $52.00/hr.
