Engineering Technician

The Senior Technician is responsible for supporting R&D and project teams in the development of products. This includes coordinating the building of prototypes, testing and evaluating prototypes, summarizing and documenting test results, and assisting with product design and optimization. Experience with balloon catheter or catheters with electronics is specifically sought after. The role also involves overseeing the maintenance of equipment and instrumentation through coordinating inspections, calibrations, inventory assessments, and preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build prototypes.
  • Provide guidance and training to technicians.
  • Maintain proper documentation of repairs, calibrations, periodic safety inspections, preventive maintenance procedures, and in-service training sessions.
  • Collaborate with R&D engineers to develop basic processes needed for product fabrication.
  • Work with outside consultants, vendors, and the medical community.
  • Create documentation for the processes used in building products.
  • Support design reviews and customer visits.
  • Summarize and document test results.
  • Manage program compliance with Quality Control requirements.
  • Provide leadership to the team by working to define clear, realistic goals.

Essential Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in the medical device industry.
  • Knowledge of balloon catheter building.
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in ISO standards, troubleshooting, electronics, mechanical systems, prototype design, and assembly.
  • Knowledge of calibration, safety inspection, preventive maintenance, fabrication, design review, quality control, manufacturing equipment, and maintenance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of medical device processes.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $42.00/hr.
