Engineering Technician

Join our team as an Engineering Technician, where you will play a crucial role in the development of new products by building and setting up testing for prototypes. You will source prototype parts from local suppliers and manage the inventory of parts in the shop. Documenting the build process of new products and collaborating with engineers to ensure continuous productivity are key aspects of this role.

Responsibilities:

• Build and set up testing for new product development in the prototype phase.
• Source prototype parts from local suppliers.
• Manage inventory of parts in the shop.
• Document the build process of new products.
• Pull information and tasks from engineers to maintain a productive workflow.

Essential Skills:

• Troubleshooting
• Mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Assembly experience
• Proficiency in CAD
• Excel skills
• Basic electrical knowledge
• Prototype experience

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• 2+ years' experience in designing and setting up units for testing in a lab environment.
• Sheet metal fabrication skills
• Woodworking skills
• Experience in controls engineering is a plus.
• Experience in brazing copper tubing is a plus.

Work Environment:

Work in a dynamic prototype lab alongside the engineering team. Spend approximately 75% of your time on the shop floor and 25% at a desk. Work hours are from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, with a flexible start time. Collaborate closely with engineers and contribute to a family-oriented team that values exposure to new product development.

Job Type & Location:

This is a contract position based out of Hiawatha, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
