Engineering Technician
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Engineering Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, wire lists, and connector pin-outs. You will be responsible for building various types of wires and wire harnesses and will work independently as well as collaboratively to ensure project success.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, wire lists, and connector pin-outs.
- Build various types of wires and wire harnesses by laying out wires, crimping, soldering, and populating various connectors.
- Work independently and within a team to ensure project timelines are met.
- Identify and resolve issues early to guarantee a quality product.
- Use tools to assemble electronic and mechanical assemblies proficiently.
- Demonstrate proficiency with soldering best practices.
- Assist in the development of design documentation, including manufacturing drawings, assembly, test, and evaluation protocols.
Essential Skills
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, wire lists, and connector pin-outs.
- Experience with prototype development, soldering, and CAD software.
- Understanding of IPC-A-620 wire and cable requirements and J-STD-001 soldering requirements.
- 2+ years of hands-on, real-world experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- An associate degree in Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
- Knowledge of IPC standards is a plus.
Work Environment
The position offers a small team environment consisting of about 16 employees in an engineering/lab setting. Enjoy flexible work hours and the opportunity to work directly with engineering to enhance skills, particularly in CAD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
