Engineering Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Lead to oversee the full lifecycle of complex capital projects, from initial concept through final commissioning. This role involves managing engineering efforts, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. A strong emphasis will be placed on water infrastructure and other strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, design, and execution of capital projects, ensuring alignment with internal project governance and delivery standards.
  • Develop engineering work packages, manage external design firms, and review technical deliverables for accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide technical leadership and support for strategic programs, collaborating with teams across operations, maintenance, safety, permitting, legal, and external consultants.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between internal departments and third-party contractors to ensure project goals are met in terms of safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
  • Prepare and present regular project updates to leadership, including progress reports, cost tracking, and schedule forecasts using internal reporting systems and tools.
  • Ensure consistent project delivery that meets performance expectations, budget constraints, and safety standards.
  • Promote a strong safety culture throughout all phases of project execution, with a goal of zero incidents.
  • Work closely with procurement teams to define sourcing strategies, prepare bid documents, manage vendor communications, and oversee contract execution.
  • Lead company-wide safety initiatives and efforts to maintain an injury-free work environment across all project phases.
  • Mentor junior engineers and oversee interns or co-op students, fostering technical development and team integration.

Essential Skills

Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; preference for mechanical, chemical, civil, geo, or electrical disciplines. Minimum of 10 years of experience managing mid- to large-scale capital projects within industrial or manufacturing environments. Strong proficiency in project management and productivity tools such as Microsoft Office, MS Project, Primavera P6, and Maximo. Experience managing multiple projects involving Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management phases of mechanical projects. Demonstrated success in managing multiple concurrent projects with varying scopes and timelines. Skilled in identifying and resolving technical and operational challenges throughout the project lifecycle. Capable of aligning strategic objectives across internal departments and external partners to ensure seamless project execution. Broad understanding of engineering principles and construction practices across multiple disciplines. Able to independently oversee projects from concept through completion with minimal supervision. Experience working in active industrial facilities or brownfield sites, with a strong focus on safety and operational continuity.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Familiarity with risk assessment, case development, and integrating safety considerations into design, construction, and long-term operation. Experience managing EPC firms, budgets, and subcontractors.

Work Environment

This position is based at a corporate office with regular site visits required. You will work on projects related to large industrial, geotechnical, water quality, piping, mechanical, and underground injection wells. The work environment emphasizes safety and operational continuity.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Lithia, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
