Engineering Documentation Specialist

We are seeking a Manufacturing Documentation / Engineering Change Coordinator on a contract basis to support our Manufacturing and Engineering teams. This role focuses on the documentation, tracking, and coordination of Defective Material Reports (DMRs) and Engineering Change Management (ECM) activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Enter and track Defective Material Reports (DMRs) in internal systems.
  • Support Engineering Change Management (ECM) documentation and change tracking.
  • Maintain accurate records and support document control activities.
  • Route engineering changes for review and approvals across Engineering, Quality, and Production.
  • Follow up on open items to ensure documentation is completed and properly updated.
  • Ensure records are current, organized, and maintained according to process.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Comfort working in a manufacturing environment and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with administrative coordination, documentation tracking, or workflow management.
  • Clear communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Exposure to manufacturing, quality, or engineering documentation processes.
  • Familiarity with DMR/NCR workflows, engineering changes (ECO/ECN), or similar systems.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP, PLM, or document control systems.
  • Targeting early-career Manufacturing Engineering profiles (1–5 years) and/or engineering documentation personnel.

Work Environment:

The position is a contract role for 6+ months, with the potential for extension and possible conversion to full-time. The role involves working in a manufacturing setting, coordinating with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams. No specific degree is required, but relevant experience and demonstrated capability are prioritized.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract position based out of Itasca, IL.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $44.00/hr.
