Embedded Systems Engineer
The Embedded Systems Engineer plays a crucial role in designing and verifying custom digital hardware and software for advanced medical devices, particularly those incorporating digital imaging technologies. This position requires a deep understanding of embedded systems engineering, medical device regulations, and the technical challenges associated with high-fidelity digital imaging in healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Develop embedded systems for high-resolution image acquisition, real-time video processing, and data transmission within compact medical devices.
- Utilize interfaces such as MIPI or LVDS and implement advanced DSP algorithms to enhance image quality.
- Ensure adherence to stringent medical device quality systems through meticulous verification, extensive documentation, and risk management.
- Collaborate closely with electrical and software engineers to achieve seamless hardware-software integration and system validation.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards such as IEC to guarantee the safety, reliability, and performance of medical devices.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in embedded system design.
- Experience with microcontrollers.
- Strong programming skills in C.
- Knowledge of hardware and FPGA development.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Adaptability to pivot between manufacturing problems and new product development as priorities change.
- A degree in engineering is preferred, with some flexibility based on experience.
- Must be curious and driven, able to work independently without needing constant direction.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $60.00/hr.
