Embedded Software Engineering Lead
We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Lead to both contribute technically and lead a team of embedded software engineers in the development of mission-critical software for defense and aerospace applications. This role is approximately 70% hands-on development and 30% leadership/programmatic management, requiring both deep technical expertise and the ability to manage, mentor, and drive a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as both an individual contributor and manager of other embedded software engineers.
- Collaborate with the Embedded Software Chief Engineer to architect and implement embedded software solutions that meet program requirements.
- Develop embedded software in C (primary) and other relevant languages as required.
- Ensure compliance with applicable aerospace and defense software standards, including AS9115, DO-178C and MIL-STD-882 for system safety.
- Delegate tasks effectively, monitor progress, and adjust priorities to meet schedule and budget constraints.
- Perform code reviews, enforce coding standards, and maintain software quality.
- Drive program execution, ensuring timely delivery of milestones and deliverables.
- Coordinate with program managers, systems engineers, and hardware teams to ensure software integrates seamlessly into the overall system.
- Provide technical oversight, mentorship, and career development guidance to embedded software team members.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $72.11 - $96.15/hr.
