Embedded Software Engineer

This role is with a global company that provides locks, access systems, and secure entry solutions to help buildings stay safe and easy to navigate. A significant portion of their portfolio includes hotel door locks, but they also provide access systems for large buildings, multi-housing units, hospitals, government buildings, schools, and more. The firmware team is responsible for providing firmware for these various systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain an embedded test framework (unit/integration/HIL) using Embedded C.
• Perform board bring-up.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and validate complex issues.
• Develop and maintain firmware using embedded platforms and RTOS environments.
• Participate in architecture design.
• Partner with hardware, software, manufacturing, and QA teams to deliver robust products.

Essential Skills

• 7 years of experience in embedded firmware development.
• 7 years of experience in Embedded C.
• 5 years of experience in any Real-Time Operating System.
• Full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience.

Work Environment

3 days on-site, working on an open engineering floor with 9 other firmware team members. Access to the lab when needed. Tuesday mandatory, other days flexible.

Job Type & Location

This is a contract position based out of Montreal, QC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $65.00/hr.
