Embedded Software Engineer

We're hiring an Embedded Software Engineer to support development for space-bound embedded systems. This role is ideal for engineers who either have strong experience developing C code from scratch for RTOS-based systems (we use FreeRTOS but are open to others), OR those with hands-on experience in Embedded Linux—whether at the low-level, middleware, or application layer. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy embedded software solutions for space industry applications.
• Program primarily in C/C++ for various embedded systems.
• Contribute to the development of Embedded Linux systems, including low-level, middleware, and application layers.
• Support RTOS development for mission-critical applications.
• Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines to ensure successful product development.
• Engage with different programs and projects based on expertise and interest.

Essential Skills

• Proficient in embedded C and firmware development.
• Experience with RTOS and Embedded Linux systems.
• Ability to develop C code from scratch.
• Experience in any regulated industry, such as Aerospace, Defense, Space, Medical Device, or Automotive.
• Proficient in using tools like Logic Analyzer and Oscilloscope.
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in developing embedded applications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Python is preferred.
• Experience with microprocessors, middleware, application development, shell scripting, and kernel development is a plus.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pasadena, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $75.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
