Embedded Software Engineer

We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design and customize Linux board support packages (BSP). This role primarily focuses on bootloaders, including U-Boot, and the Linux kernel for Yocto and Buildroot based distributions.

Responsibilities

• Design and customize Linux board support packages (BSP).
• Focus on bootloaders including U-Boot and the Linux kernel.
• Collaborate with engineers from multiple engineering disciplines.
• Engage in all aspects of product design, including requirements documentation, system architecture, design for manufacturing, design for test, and design verification.

Essential Skills

• Experience with embedded systems and microprocessor-based (MPU) design.
• Proficiency in firmware and embedded software development.
• Knowledge of Linux and embedded Linux.
• Familiarity with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in design for manufacturing and design verification.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment with engineers from various disciplines.

Work Environment

The role involves working in a collaborative engineering environment, focusing on the development and customization of Linux board support packages. The position requires interaction with cross-disciplinary engineering teams to ensure comprehensive product design and implementation.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $75.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
