As a Senior Embedded Engineer, you will be a key member of our engineering team, responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing embedded systems that form the backbone of our access control solutions. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our devices, contributing to the overall success of our product offerings.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for APEX Infrastructure by addressing bug fixes, enhancing code coverage with unit testing, and developing automated testing procedures using C++ and Python.
• Contribute to APEX Feature Additions by developing new features in collaboration with the existing team.
• Assist with the ETHOS Project by resolving outstanding bugs and configuration issues.
• Offer General Infrastructure Support, including experience in infrastructure and project maintenance procedures such as pipeline execution, hardware lab setup, and testing infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain firmware for access control devices, ensuring compatibility with various hardware configurations.
• Implement security measures to safeguard against unauthorized access and attacks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define firmware requirements and specifications.
• Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to coding standards, and best practices.
• Identify and implement optimizations to enhance the efficiency and stability of embedded systems.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues, providing timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with QA engineers to develop test plans and execute testing for embedded systems.
• Ensure seamless integration of embedded software with other components of access control solutions.
• Conduct system-level testing to validate the performance and functionality of devices.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Firmware Development, C++, Embedded C, and RTOS.
• Experience in Device Firmware Development.
• Ability to conduct code reviews and optimizations.
• Troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Familiarity with integration and testing procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with documentation, development, and test procedures.
• Knowledge of bash scripting.
• Extroverted individuals who enjoy interacting with multiple departments.

Work Environment

The position is hybrid, requiring onsite presence in Broomfield three times a week for a total of 40 hours. The work involves collaboration with multiple departments, providing meaningful contributions to life safety and security solutions. The team is ambitious, with a significant road map and the opportunity to be part of the ground floor of important projects.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Broomfield, Colorado.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $80.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
