Engineering Technician

This position involves the installation, maintenance, and calibration of electronic and some mechanical equipment in accordance with preventive maintenance and calibration schedules. The role also includes supporting process improvements and conducting 0TC testing as directed by the Facilities Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Optimize safety to minimize risk, follow Lock Out Tag Out procedures, wear required PPE, and adhere to all necessary precautions when working with gases like hydrogen, nitrogen, and argon, and handling high electrical voltage.
  • Read and understand technical materials, including electrical and hydraulic schematics, PLC and ladder logic, blueprints, operator interfaces, HMIs, and machine manuals.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and township codes.
  • Perform temperature profiles of Sinter furnaces and maintain preventive maintenance and calibration logs.
  • Repair or replace Sinter muffles, heating elements, hall probes, flux meters, ovens, magnetizers, and adjust machinery hardware and PLC programs.
  • Collaborate with operators and outside vendors, and manage the reorder of consumables and spare parts.
  • Fabricate, install, and move new equipment, design electrical controls and panel wiring, write and edit program code, and train operators.
  • Measure the temperature coefficient for production and support process improvement and engineering projects.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience as an Electrical Engineer with a focus on controls and manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in calibration and working with PLCs, HMIs, and panels.
  • Ability to diagnose complex issues in collaboration with maintenance teams.
  • Background in manufacturing or industrial settings with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in supporting magnet and rare metals manipulation/manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with maintenance or product design backgrounds.
